Hey everyone,

I'm trying to finish up the pearl interior on my 70 and having a hard time getting the hard plastic parts together.

I see there's someone on Ebay selling "Parchment" colored arm rest bases. Even if I have to paint them to match, I think it's an easier deal than trying to paint black armrests the pearl color. Anyone tried these parts yet?

Can I expect the Year One pearl armrest pads to match the rest of my Year One interior?

What color are the rear plastic armrest-like panels supposed to be, black or pearl? Is there a manufacturer making these in the pearl color?

Sometimes I wish I had changed to a black interior. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif Thanks for your help-

Tony,
I did my pearl plastic parts with a pearl spray dye along with the plastic spray cleaner from a local NAPA parts store. The color match was excellent, basically the same color as the pearl seat covers. My original arm rest pads were almost bone white, possibly from years of fading in the convertible. I dont know if they were supposed to be straight white or the pearl color, but the pearl looks much better. I also didnt respray my white pieces because they were very chalky, I sprayed a pair of parchment (tan) ones. I also sprayed my bucket seat plastics which were originally green. I have a huge box of armrest bases, I will look tomorrow and see if I have any more light color ones. I may even still have the can of pearl paint for a part number.

Tony,
no luck on armrests, the only pair of tan ones I found were brittle and chalky like my original white ones were. Good news is I did find the can of spray dye I used, it is SEM vinyl and plastic color spray, PN 15003 "phantom white". The bottom of the can has "A0183/15003" printed on the bottom but the cap has the 15003 part number. I test sprayed some this morning and it looks like it covers very well so I think you could even spray black pieces with this stuff. SEM also makes a spray plastic primer/cleaner which I also used, it removes any silocones and prevents the dye from fish eyeing. This dye is probably 10 years old so hopefully it is still available.
