I have a 68 Chevelle with some rare options. I have wondered if it is an L79 car. Please see my "Please help" letter dated 01-01-99 for information about the car. I am looking for any information that you all might have. Unfortunately, I dont have the build sheet. Thanks Jerry

A friend of mine, who used to do the documentation in Oshawa, had one. It was a 4 speed car. The engine seemed to be the same as earlier L79 motors but had a cast iron intake and quadrajet. I personally saw it handily outrun another friends '69 396-350hp Chevelle. Check out the engine code on the front of the block along with the casting dates. GM was too busy playing up the SS396 cars to give these much press.

The L-79 was indeed one potent small block. I know, I'm driving one in a 66. I haven't been able to document it, nobody seems to be able to help me with it. Would appreciate any help with doing so.
