I've just purchased my first Chevy, a 69 Chevelle Malibu w/ 350. I haven't had the chance to look, but I think it's got a two barrel, Is this possible? How much HP can I expect out of that? I've got a 625CFM Road Demon I'm going to put on it later, I'm just curious about now. It's got 60,000 miles, and I got it for 1500. It has some minor body damage on the passenger fender, but that's it. Needs a paint job and it's done.

Hey speedr!!

I agree, sounds like you made a good buy. Re: 2bbl on 350. It is possible. You didn't say if it was original engine or not. Either way you have a great many miles of fun left in it!!! As with amhpd17, i kinda like the '69 model.

I have owned two '69 Chevelles. The first was my first car, back in the early 70's and the second I bought this last March.

It is my understanding that 69s did not come with 350s. The 350 was really made available in 1970. I have heard that very late 69s could get the new 350 but were 2bbl, probably Rochesters.

Both of mine were 307s. We put in a new 350 in this last one. A little cam, dual exhaust, 600CFM Holly with a new manifold and I'm probably close to 300HP. Headers would put it over the top.

Hope this helps.

My 69 Malibu that I own right now came from the factory with a 350/300 horse motor in it. Change the cam, intake, and carb...Have fun!

As Tom said, definitely could get a 350 in your 69 Chevelle. I also had the 300 hp 350 in one I owned a few years ago. And yes, this motor came with a factory 4-barrel Rochester carb. There was also another 4-barrel 350 available as well, with a rating of 255 hp. My friend has one he bought from the original owner.

Hmm.. It's definately a 69, and it's definately a 350. I'm not entirely sure it's a 2 bbl, just looked like one at first glance. I'm used to working on my Dodge Challenger, and the 4bbl that came with it looked bigger than this. Anyway, yeah, I feel like I got a good deal. It needs minor things like the passenger fender replaced and a headliner, and a cool paintjob, but that's all it needs to make it look like new. The engine compartment is so incredibly clean, too. Thanks for the info!

Oh, what size carb/intake would yall recomend on that 350? I'm going to put a Edlebrock Torquer II with a 625 Road Demon. How's that sound? I have the carb, but not the intake yet.

You could get a 69 with a 2 barrel from the factory. Most we're 350 - 250 Hp.
