: Looking for a rubber floor mat
Byfield Sep 7th, 99, 12:54 PM Has anyone ever seen a vendor selling rummber floor mats for Chevelles? I'm talking about the flooring that was used in place of carpet on the less expensive models, like the 300's.
I've checked all the "big" name parts houses, but none carry this item.
THanks, Kurt

Michael Sep 7th, 99, 7:49 PM I got mine from Quick Classics in Atoka,Tennesse for my 72 Heavy Chevy. Brand new, too. They have all kind of connections. They can get you almost anything for any car. Ask for Todd (owner) and tell them Michael with the Heavy Chevy said to call you. He restored a 1929 Ford from the ground up without anything to go on. It took him a while but he found all kind of parts for the car. What he could'nt find, he made. Their number is (901) 837-9777. Hope this helps.
Carl Brune Sep 8th, 99, 3:45 AM Check out this link http://www.chevelles.com/aces/vol3/vol3_floor.html (at the end). It sounds like Chuck Hanson scored the last one! Metro lists a 64-67 rubber floor mat in their catalog, but not in the price list book. Also, it looks like ACC might make them, check out their website at http://www.accmats.com . --- Carl
Joe Y Sep 8th, 99, 9:32 AM Hey Byfield, I have a set of floor mats that I have no idea what they are from my 68 malibu. They are fitting plastic floor mats for YOUR color car. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif We have the same color 68(for now). Anyway, they have N S E W on them and they are deffinately from '68. Factory or not is the question. Anyway, I'm *trying* to change color and those were the first to go so.... e-mail me.
OOPS! Just realized you're looking for the actual floor stuff. Sorry, I had a 4 door 68 300 deluxe that I could have removed that for you but it wasn't pretty. Yours is a 300 deluxe? Need some tail lights? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

HvyChvy71 Sep 9th, 99, 11:15 AM Byfield, When I was at the Super Chevy Show here in Indianapolis I asked several vendors about one for my Heavy Chevy. I talked to the people from ACC. They had a sample of a mat that was black. I can't say how comparable it is to the original, because I have never seen an original mat. The guy said they could only do it in black. He also said it would be molded just like the carpet.
I hope this helps someone.
