OK,OK, so I'm a tight wad, but I saw 2 1/4 in. exhaust systems for chevelles in JC whitney for 100 bucks with everything but mufflers. Any one familiar with this? I figured if it was an acceptable product, I would just buy a good pair of mufflers. Bad idea? Let me know what you all think. Thanks for the input. Trent

Some folks have posted here that they bought that system and it works OK. It is for headers only, not manifolds.

I'll spend a little extra $$ for quality just so I don't have to keep replacing parts. However if you do not plan on keeping the car very long then go-low budget. I bought a complete 2 1/2" Flow Master system from JEGS for about $300. You've probably seen my '67 & '69 Elcamino's parked out front at work?!?

I prefer 2 spend a little more 4 quality as well. I got a Flowmaster 2 chamber system , mufflers, pipes, +labor, all for about $350. Sounds great and no problems or leaks. If u can afford it, i think it is always better 2 go 4 quality. u usually end up spending more replacing cheap, faulty parts anyway.
