Hi all,

I just purchased some repro bucket seat backs for my '69 SS. The seat backs came with chrome trim around the edges. Is it correct for a '69 to have chrome trim around the plastic lower portions of the seats also? I have seen some '69s with it, and some without it.

Thanks!

Jeff

Yes, to my knowledge, it's correct on '69 bucket lower half trim. Based on seeing concours show condion '69's and in Chevelle resto books. von

I have noticed when looking at original unrestored '69's, they DON"T have the lower bright trim. But most of the restored cars do. Maybe the trim broke off the unrestored cars, but I find either way is acceptable. I chose not to install it on my '69 SS.

The seat trim I purchased from OPG had a glue type substance that would melt, run down the seat back and drip on the carpet if left in the hot sun. I replaced it with some I bought from PEP BOYS. Cost $10 for 20ft roll and did not have any glue. The quality was equal to or better.
