On a 69 Camaro BB, what were the stock lifters, hydraulic or solid.

depends on whether it was a 325-350-375 HP motor, only the 375 horse BB car was a solid lifter motor, twus the mean and mighty L78 option, at least on a Chevelle that was the code, L89SEDAN

No, its not the 375hp option. I believe it has 325hp. But how could I make sure. Is it in the VIN?

Check all the numbers on the motor. Unless someone else switched the cam, and if its a stock 325hp motor, they all came with hydraulic lifters, as did the 350hp motors. The 375hp motors came with solids as was mentioned.

The casting number at the pass side back by the bell housing will only tell u wat year and bore it was, u have to dig deeper to find out HP ratings, check pad under alt. to see if any numbers or letters still xist, if not u cam pull the valve covers and check the head casting numbers (if they havent been changed) lemme know wat u find out L89SEDAN
