Did any Chevelle SS 396's come with a turbo 350 transmission? Also, How can you tell from if the motor is original? The body is an SS, but not sure if it is the original 396. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Tara, we need more info on the Chevelle. What year is it?. Check the engine number on the front pad of the engine, under the alternator. If it has the original engine the last six numbers of the engine should match the last six # of the Vin #. The Vin # is located on the dash. You can see it from outside. It will be located on the driver side. Go to Team Chevelle Resto Shop and then to "How to identify a SS Chevelle".

To answer the other half of the question, no. No '70 SS cars came with turbo 350's. They were either 4-speed manuals, or turbo 400 automatics.
