One best 80 bucks I've ever spent - from Harbor Freight, a door installer, part# 40386. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=40386
I do almost everything myself and this was VERY handy when aligning the door into the jamb, making subtle changes to the alignmemt for a great fit.
I haven't found as secondary use for this yet, but all the 'stuff' I do around the house, it will probably lend a hand elsewhere.
Harbor Freight also has 'storehouses' which have saved me many trips to the store for 'just the right size' of many things.
