PreventingTonnou Cover Sag

Take a 3/4" thick Styrofoam board and slide it under the tonnou cover. Now inflate a 16x7.50 truck tire inner-tube under the foam board.
This does two things; one the inner tube keeps the from turning into a swimming pool during the rainy season, plus it’s tight enough to set a full wine glass on it without a hint of spilling ; and two, the Styrofoam is light weight and has such soft edges that you won’t even notice its there.

New inner tube = ..$15
Styrofoam board = $10
Master Card = ........$0
Total...................$25

Not having to drain the new found swimming pool in the bed of your Elcamino

...Or for $50 you could buy a set of those pre-arched aluminum tonneau cover bows from an upholstery shop, they pop in and out in a second, keep the cover nice and taunt with just a hint of a bow to let water run off.

Thats just my take anyway... ;)

Is there anyone making tonneau covers for '69 el Caminos. I don't want to drill any holes in the outside of the body.

If you are worried about ruining the chrome, you could buy repop chrome and have the snaps installed in it.

The side rail trim on our car is less than perfect so I don't mind adding the retainers to these pieces. Thanks.

I know what you mean about not wanting any drilling. My rail was drilled every 6 inches. Unfortunately, I got my Camino with the cover.
