I just purchased a new fuel tank for my 67 and couldn't bear to buy a new vent tube (mine was missing) or the anti-squeek pads. I searched this site hi and lo and found these solutions. Thought I'd post them here for consolidation.

Vent - For $2 I got a vent cap device from the GM dealer. Normaly used for rear end housing vents. Attaching to tank with 3/8" hose. Should vent just fine and keep debris out.

Anti-squeek pads - I went to a new housing development and looked for a pile of shingles from a new roof installation. In the pile was some of the tar paper they use. Found a short roll and cut strips for the straps and a sheet for the top.

Tank - I searched the internet to find the best deal. I was quoted as high as $295 from local radiator shop. Evidently there are two manufactuers of repo tanks - one Canadian the other Taiwan. The Canadian tank (Spectar I think) is very nice, comes with the fill tube installed, and a sending unit seal and lock ring - can't speak for the quality of the other but I think it speaks for itself. I found a guy via Ebay that sold me the tank directly (no bidding nonsense) for $144 plus $30 shipping.
