hey guys,i was wanting to get started on my conversion this weekend and you know murphys law set in.i measured the box and actually would have no problem with its installation.my problem lies with the pullies and brackets.the car is a 67 and has a 350 in it with a short w/p.well what i was going to do is take all brackets and pullys of my 327.well my 327 has long w/p and after measureing found out it wont work.also measured both cranks to see if harmonic balancers were same lenght outward, nope cant use.i have been looking in the parts books (not gm) and have not a clue what brackets ,or pullys to get.is this a trial by error kinda job or what.any suggestions appreciated

If you have a problem with getting parts out of a junk yard, get a catalog from "Alan Grove". They advertise in the street rod magazines.
All they do is fabricate brackets of this sort. They provide the brackets used by places like Vintage Air and the quality is outstanding.
They have all sorts of different combinations.

In my 64, it took lots of trial and error for a similar change. I bought the bottom bracket, fabricated the top one, modified the return hose, and had to get a 2 groove pulley for the P.S. pump. AND added an idler pulley.

thanks for the help. i dont have a fan shroud so ?i had a couple friends come over and one has a 68ss he recently put in a big block and had the same problem.he eliminated the spacer,i figure if i get a 1 1/2 in fan spacer it will work with a flex fan.im not looking for orginality only because its not a true ss.and dont want to spend alot of money on the 350 because a big block needs a home and i'll be looking soon.thanks for the info wes now i know where i can get some nice brackets for my big block conversion.in a few years though.
