Hey all -

What's involved in installing a rear defroster in a 70-72 Chevelle? Also, what parts will I need to pull out of my donor car? I don't have the car here, so I'd like to know how much will be involved. Thanks in advance!

What you need to remove is the switch from the dash, the wiring hooks to it, and runs to the fuse block, then to the blower motor, it runs under the carpet with the rest of the wiring that goes to the trunk. The blower assembly is held in place by four nuts, that you remove from under the rear package tray, the wiring has a connector to unhook to hot side from the switch, and then there is a groung wire that is usually screwed behind the rear seat back. Its pretty easy to reinstall in your Chevelle, the hole in the rear deck is existing, so all you have to do is cut the hole in the dash, take some measurements from the donor car. There is a difference in the blowers, a 70 model has a metal blower housing and a metal grille. 71-72 models have plastic blower housings and grilles. They work the same, but it just doesn't look correct.

Thanks for the info. By the way, the e-mail listed in your profile doesn't work. E-mail me if you're looking for 70 MC parts - that's what the donor car is.
