Anyone know of a product that really seals a fuel leak? I just put in a fuel cell, and it leaks where the hose fitting is screwed into the cell.

You might want to try Teflon Tape - you can pick it up at any automotive or plumbing supply. Works great on the threads of a fuel line.

Do you have the correct fittings? It's real easy to get some fittings mixed up. Be careful with Teflon tape, It can cause you a lot of grief if the slightest little strand gets into the fuel line. Happened to me once.

I assume the fitting is right--it came w/ the cell already attached; it's a nozzle shaped cone fitting that screws into the cell; looks like fuel is leaking around the threads where it screws in.

Is this a plastic tank?(If so) Is the fitting tight? try tightening it a little more. Is it the type with the white plastic washer? On the fuel cell I have(plastic) there is a nut on the inside that you have to get a wrench on so, you can tighten the outter nut.

Sounds like you need some teflon paste thread sealer. This should be used on all threaded fuel fitings.

I might disagree with Bob Tiley in a manner(sounds like blasphemy). Many fuel fittings are actually flare or reverse flare fittings, and thread sealer is of no use nor recommended since the seal is at the flare, not the threads. I see teflon tape on flarenuts often, but it is out of place there!
As for pipe threads, I agree.

Why is there never enough time or money to do it right the first time, but ALWAYS enough to do it over?
Make it look the way you like it, forget what the other guys say!

I have a fuel cell also, a plastic RCI cell. It has a nut inside and a white plastic washer on both sides. I had to tighten mine up as it leaked when I first installed it. Also the flare fitting on these cells are called AN fittings and require a specific fitting to attach to it. Do you have the correct fittings on it after that? The flare angle on the AN style fittings is different than reqular flare fittings. If you used regular flare fittings, this might be where the leak is coming from.

Yup, everyone's advice was right: my cell is RCI and it has the washer; I used teflon paste and tightened it up, and good bye leak.

Thanks.
