We are TRYING to re-cover buckets from my son's 67 chevelle. Does any one know any steps to go through? Like should you do the edge first the front or I am thinking the seam that runs the length of the seat and is in from the edgesa few inches Any help would be a blessing.. Thanks Steve

Two things in general that will make things easier : 1-warm the covers in the sun, they will stretch a bit better and be easier to work with. 2- put a plastic bag (dry cleaner type) over the seat back when pulling them on. The covers will slide better.

I have a book with pictures showing step by step how to recover buckets. Let me see if I can scan it. If it comes out ok I will email it to you. Put the new covers in a pillow case and throw them in the dryer for a couple of minutes .. but not too long!

Watched the guy do mine a couple years ago. He started in the middle. Had a stiff spline through the cover that was hog ringed to the seat spring. Then he went down the inner sides, then last, he hog ringed the edges. Made it look easy, but he knew what he was doing and where the old rings were. tom
Silicone spray will make them slide on easier. von
