Has anyone fabricated a heat only box in place of the large evap box on the firewall of a 71? I want to do away with the present non-working a/c for a cleaner look under the hood. Any help much appreciated!

I did this a few years ago on another car. I took both pieces off the firewall and bolted together. Then cut the off about 1" from the firewall bolt location and built a fiberglass panel to cover the cut hole.

I don't know if this will help but I have a non a/c heater box I took off of my 72 Chevelle. You would still have to cover the large hole where the old box went and cut a new hold for this box. Let me know if you want it. Don

Keep the A/C! the car will be worth more if kept original. It won't take too much to get it working again.
