Everyone has some little squeak somewhere, whether it be the door hinges or bushings or whatever. My alternator began to squeak at low RPMs so I squirted a little Hoppe's gun oil behind the pulley. No squeak since! It's a high viscosity oil so it'll last longer than WD-40 or even some silicone sprays. It will also inhibit rust. It seriously has worked better than anything I've tried so far! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif

Good tip. I have some fancy "reel and gun" oil which I am quite certain is the same stuff as NAPA's "dripless oil". The smell, consistency, and "uses" on the labels are the same. I use it on my door and hood hinges. --- Carl
