The Z bar on my 1970 SS 454 does not line up horizontally when viewed from the front of the car. I replaced the trans mount (PST Urethane) and it looks a bit better however I am now beginning to suspect the wrong motor mounts. Is there some way that I can determine the correctness of the mounts that are presently installed ?? Would small block mounts cause the engine to sit lower even on one side ????

Did you try to adjust the frame pivot ball? I believe you have about 3/4" adjustment on this. The motor mounts do not have that much difference in them in height, probably only 1/8" - 1/4".

I don't know that they ever did line up perfectly. With a ball stud on each end of the Z-bar, you should be OK. Unless it's REALLY out of line.
