I recently purchased this chevelle and the trunk will not stay open. Apparently something is missing. I do not have any other car to look at and I purchased the reproduction of the original service manual and it does not even show it! If anyone can help. I would appreciate it.

There are 2 tension rods at the ends of the hinges that cross over each other. All you have to do is re-postion them for more tension. If you only have one or if they are positioned wrong, it won't stay opened.

If you need to replace them, any 68-72 GM-A body will work. they are all the same.
