I have a cloth insulated wire, coming from my fuse box, to the positive side of the coil and it needs replacing, problem is,i cant find that type of wire anywhere, Why is it cloth covered,,? and can i just use vinyl covered 14 gauge wire instead? thanks Dan

Your best bet is a wrecking yard. The wire is a "resistor" type. It drops the voltage to about 8V- necessary for long life.

I've been wanting an opportunity like this to contact M&H Electric Fabricators, Inc. They are the people who make most of if not all of the restoration wire harnesses. If you wanted a "new" replacement than these are the guys to call.
