I have a 70 chevelle with a ignition switch I would like to replace. The key I have does not turn to accessory. Any help would be appreciated.

It is probably not the lock. If it has been apart it could be that the rack gear has not been lined up properly when reassembled. I did that to mine and it would not turn to the accessory position. Also check the alignment of the switch at the base of the steering column. Philip

I agree w/64 elcamino. This is especially
true of tilt columns that you disassemble to
tighten the tilt mechanism. You will probably
have to reclock the rack and gear assy.
