I am about to install a new headliner on my sons '68 Chevelle that he is restoring. Never done one before but I've heard that they are hard to do. Do you have any pointers or suggestions for me before I start?

Take it to a professional!!! It was one of the hardest things I've ever tried to do to my Chevelle, and I never did get it to look good.

I agree with 64. I took my '69 to a professonal and it looks great plus they know what they are doing. I didnt even want to try and put mine in myself.

Get alot of clothes pins, good adhesive, and take your time.

I put the headliner in my 69 chevelle myself at home. First measure and mark the exact center on the liner and on the car. Then hang the headliner in from the rods. There are different holes in the body to mount the rods. Just put them back in the same ones they come out of. Then start at the front and rear centers attaching the material and pulling it tight and working out to the edges. A heat gun will probably be nessasary to get all the wrinkles out. Plan on spending all afternoon to complete the job. Its always fun to sucessfully do a job that many people say -"don't". Good Luck.
