Powdercoat will not stand up to the heat.

High temp paint (the 1500 degree stuff) is your best option.

Over the years doing many cars I have had the best success with Eastwood Stainless Steel Paint. Have used it on manifolds and headers - it will not burn off and gives a nice satin grey finish. If you ever chip it with a wrench or socket it can be touched up with a brush. It is available in pint cans.

You can reach them at 800-345-1178 or www.eastwoodcompany.com (http://www.eastwoodcompany.com)

Good luck.

I can also vouch for the stuff that Don mentioned from Eastwood. Looks great and seems to last. I did mine a year and a half ago and it still looks great!

There is also Jet Hot - I had mine Jet Hot coated, haven't started the engine yet but they guarantee it for life.

see my web page below, page two for a pic.

Had mine ceramic coated at Performance Coatings in OKC. They were quite a bit lower in cost than Jet Hot, $115 for both manifolds and a lifetime warranty.

Just curious, would POR-15 stand up to the heat or do they make a similar product that would? The headers that were on the car when I bought it are a bit rusty and we're on a tight budget, so don't want to replace them right now.

I used a can of 1500* Aluminum from Duplicolorm from the local autozone. It is having some issues at spots but that is becasue of poor prep. If you blast then warm them, say 110 degrees in the oven them paint they should due you right.

Uncle, the answer to your question is yes, Por does make a high temp coating for exhaust manifolds and headers. Check it out at www.por15.com (http://www.por15.com) and www.brysondist.com (http://www.brysondist.com)

Jet-Hot....looks great, doesn't burn off, & it's a guaranteed finish.
