: Anyone rebuilt their Heater control panel?

I'm thinking about rebuilding the heater control panel. One of the levers is not even connected and the box leaks hot air all of the time. Not much fun in the humidity of North Carolina.

I spoke with Hinshaws ans they said it would be about $100 in parts for the levers, cable, panel and seals.

Can it be done on the weekend by the average Joe and no previous experience?

Thanks

Bill, Super Chevy or Chev High Perf. had a article on that, I'll see if I can find what month and get back to you. Seems to me that it was not that difficult.

Bill;

I rebuilt the controls for my 64/5 when I did the vintage air conversion. There is a photo in the "techref" #19 and little comment on it.

I'd recommend that you first get one out of a junk yard that can be used for extra parts, if needed.

Bill, The July 2000 of Chev High Perf has a special Chevy resto section and a article called a Better Lever. If you don't have access to this mag. let me know and I will get a copy of the article off to you.
