I would like to find the history of a 68 chevelle that I bought in the state of New York. The person I bought the car from said it was originally sold new in the state of New York. Any help would be appreciated.

Luke, I also would like a history on My SS that was built and I think sold new in California. Im sure that if its possible this web site can find it. Any Help here?......Mark

CA is worse than NY. Histiry only avaliable 3 years back. Records to 1976 stored offsite and fee is $85 per year and can only be obtained by a court order.

Luke, I called NYS DMV and got a helpful gal on the horn, and she could only take my 67 back to 1980. I guess prior to that records were real sktchy unless it was the same owner for the first 12 years. Its worth a try. She ran mine down by plate number, not vin, but I'm sure they can do vin as well.

Theoretically, they are not supposed to do this so hopefully you get a gal you can charm into it!
