Hey everyone, excellent site. Was wondering if anyone knows about the new harwood 4" cowl hood released mid '99 for '69 chevelles that uses your original hood springs and mounts. So far I've been running with no breather ass'y (just won't fit, need min. 3" more height). Are there any websites showing these and are there any Canadian distributors to order from (haha). Could really use some help as spring is just around the corner.

Smokum, I searched through my mags and catalogs and couldnt find much, sorry.Athough I think a 4 inch cowl on a 69 should be pretty darn cool! good luck!

Smokum,I have been looking at this hood, also.I talked with the factory rep.at the Super Chevy Show in Atlanta and he said that the hood was actually made for '68 hinges but that '69 hinges would work if new holes were drilled. Their number is 1-800-822-3392. I'm sure they will send you a catalog and you can order direct.Good luck!

Thanks Raymond,
I was hoping for a greater response which would off me a supplier comparison for both region and price, but one is better than none. Will trying contacting them soon and thks again.

Speaking of those 4" cowl hoods, how do they look from the drivers seat. They seem like they may be a bit too tall. A version for 73-77 cars just came out http://www.usbodysource.com/ These guys have lots of parts for the older chevelles as well. Anyone bought parts from them??

And get that breather on there before you run it , besides pulling in small dirt particles, it's a fire hazzard.I should know, I had a '80 4x4 Chevy truck spit back, and flame up, and an '81 Caballero(GMC El Camino) burn to the ground in my front yard because of no breather. No full coverage on the Elky either!OUCH!!
