The redline is showing 5000 rpm redline, but I thought all big blocks were 5500 rpm? Is this a small block tach in this car? I don't know what the redline at, I'm sure It was an option in small blocks but I've never seen one.

Is the color of your tach numbers white or light green? My guess is white and you have a small block tach, 71 or 72. You didnt state what year car you have, but if its a 70 you should have a 5500 redline with light green numbers. 71-72 used white numbers.

I have a friend that has a 70 convertible 2 bl. 350 small block with a 4-speed and it has a 5,000rpm redline tack with green lettering. A 70 Monte Carlo dash would have green lettering and 5,000rpm tach with a small block. My friend has a build sheet with his 70 chevelle that shows the optional guage package in a malibu.
