: Fender Extension moldings

Hey, is it my imagination, or do 1970 SS396's usually come with the fender extension moldings, and the 1970 SS454's do not? It seems like all of the pics I have seen generally run true to the above. Were the extension moldings not available on the 454 version, or were they just more unusual? No one seems to know anything about this!
Thanks for any info

If you are tallking about the chrome under the headlights, almost hidden by the bumper;

I think it was determined here before that the were only on early models and discontinued sometime early in the model year. If a car had them they were probably left off during the restoration.

This is the case with my 70 which was buit in JAN.

Yes Dean, that's the trim strip I was talking about. Thanks for the info; I couldn't find out anything about it, except that all the pictures I had of these strips being present were on SS396's, no SS 454's. Probably a coincidence! Thanks again!

I vaguely remember this conversation also. My '70 Malibu has the trim peices (built in the spring, I think). I think we reached a conclusion that the appearance of the trim peices on any car seemed as random as the steel vs. fiberglass inner fender well issue.
