Anyone going to the Pomona street drags this weekend. If so perhaps we could meet up.

David, if you make it I, hopefully, will be pitted near the stands. I am running a white 67 EC with no hood. The engine has gold Moroso air cleaner and valve covers. I'll be there Saturday but not Sunday.

Hope to see you,

So Pat, what is this? Can you just bring your car and take some runs down the track? This is the first I've heard of it(maybe I'm just thick) I live about 15 min. from the track and would love to see what my moms BB 67' Camaro could do!
Thanks In Advance!

Steve, yes that's it. Bring your car and run it. Saturday is for 13.99 and quicker Sunday is 14.00 and slower.

Here is the URL for all the information:

Steve - Some advice. Get there early. And I mean Early. Pat will tell ya. 2 reasons to get there early.

1st - if you want to run, sometimes they fill up

2nd - get a parking spot closer to the stands.

I will be there just to watch, so I will not get there until 9 or 10.

So Pat what did you run? Also, David and Pat, thanks for the advice but by the time Sat. and Sun. rolled around I completely forgot about the drags! When is the next one?***never mind this question,I just found the next ones are the 10th and 11th of July***
Also real quick, if someone hasn't run before, and they don't know their expected ET what day would they run? For instance: 67' Camaro never run at the track, 454 crate motor 425 rated HP, weiand stealth, HEI, headers, flowmaster pipes with Dyno mufflers, TH-400(around 2500 stall)373 gears in a narrowed 12 bolt and the kicker-not needed added for looks 14 inch wide steamroller rear meats. No Juice. Most original steel except a glass hood. What day would I run the car, if I don't know what I'd run in Mom's car?
Anyway, thanks.

Steve,

It was my first time running this car. I didn't do too well the first run (14.56) but better after that. 13.95 @ 100mph was my best run. Traction was my biggest problem.

Anyone can run "time only," which is what I did, on either day. I would say Saturday is the day for you. Saturday is 13.99 and faster for bracket racing, Sunday 14.00 and slower. I understand Sunday is loaded with imports and who wants to hear 4 bangers all day.

If you think you will run faster then 14.00, and you probably will, a helmet is required. However in "time only" a number of guys were in the 13's without helmets.

Those 14 inchers should solve any traction problems you might have http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Email me or post here if you have any more questions.

Pat are you affiliated with SoCalSS? One of my good friends is in that club.

No, I think they just host the site for the Street Legal Drags web pages.

Too bad we didn't cross paths Saturday. I ended up pitted in the north-south pits rather than the east-west pit nearer the stands. I'll be going again on the 10th, hope to see you.
