: Drippers or no?

Are drippers and/or baffles on the underside the rocker covers an absolute necessity, or are they more of a "better safe than sorry" proposition for high revving engines? I am currently building a 396 as a Sunday cruiser with no intent to really push the engines performance envelope. I am going with stock, or close to stock internal components and do not intend to race. Should I opt for the rocker/valve covers with drippers or not? By the way, what function do the baffles serve? Thanks for the input.

Merlin, the drippers literally pool up oil and let it drip directly onto the rocker ass'y for lube. Unless you are running rollers, I think they are an excellent bet.

The baffles, I think, keep oil from blowing out of the big holes, PCV and filler.

So yes, I would use these components in my covers, esp if its a high revver.
