Any idea how many 64chevelle ss conv.4 speed 300hp 327 w/air cars were produced?I have one built in july 64.Anybody have one out there or looking for one? Thanx, lets chat this subject up?

I show 9,640 SS convertibles built in 64,
don,t have a break down by options, but it sounds like a pretty rare car!!!!!

1964 as a whole was a very big year for 4-speeds. Ford brought out the top-loader, Chrysler made there own and so did GM with the Muncie.
As for '64 Chevelles with 327s, they came out mid-year to better the 283/220. A/C wasn't very popular in '64. Combine them all and I believe you have a rare and desireable car. I saw one in Musclecar Review , Feb '89 that didn't have a/c but did have the 327/300, 4-spd.,p/s, p/b, wire wheel covers, sport wheel, power windows(!) and remote-controlled mirror(!), gauges, h.d. rad...

If I'm not mistaken, the 327 was a late-in model year option, with the 300 hp being the top of the line. I think the L-79 was first available in 65. I have a 64 SS conv, 6 cyl car with 1551 being produced. When you have one, you tend to find out that kind of info. It is Goldwood Yellow, a SS only color. My 0.02. Was your's built in California?
