up until this past week there was an add in here from a guy who had a lot of different q-jets for sale for $50 each. Does anybody still have his e-mail address?

If you can't find 'em, check your local bone yard(s)...Should be readily available, be the same price range, and you can check over the carbs before you buy

Pick'in tips...
Don't get any with any white oxidation or if the accelerater pump is stuck-they've been wet and could be corroded beyond repair inside...
Check the base plate for bad pitting, and square (flat bottom) using a T-square edge...
Check the seal between the baseplate and primary throttle blade rod (where the rod goes thru the casting and your throttle cable connects to)-- if you can wiggle it up/down noticably, it's gonna be a big vacuum leak that has to be machined to fix...
check over the fuel inlet/filter cap and assembly screws to make sure they're not stripped.
Finally, check all the springs, on the primary throttle plate rod, secondary throttle plate rod, and the secondary valves on top of the carb.
Try and find one w/electric choke.
Avoid the Q-jets made by Carter, they used porus Al that can leak gas right through the casting.

If you find one that meets all these criteria, it's worth $75 at least.

Good luck!

Ok: here is my contribution: wiggle the primary throttle shaft before you buy. This is a real problem with these old carbs.
The tighter the better.
