Can someone please help in which lighter goes into my 1971 Chevelle SS? The one on the left was the origional in my 1971 Malibu (origional owners, brother & I). DId the SS's come like the one on the right or were they the same in 1971 as the Malibu's??

I also have an orginal 71SS and the lighter in mine is the same as the one on the right!

1971 LS5 Chevelle SS

I reacall my 71 SS had the one on the left, this was back in 1978. My brother had a 72 Chevelle and it had the one on the right. In fact I believe 72 was the year they began putting little pictures on the knob as the one on the right has.

I have a brochure for 71 at home, I'll look at it tonight and see if it shows a pic. If I can I'll scan it and e-mail it to you.

New Chevelle Features for 1971...

Thanks again and hope this helps, I know it cleared it up for me. BTW- the Monte Carlo knobs were the same way when you ordered the SS package with them.
