I need an exhaust system for my 72 .
It's a smallblock with stock manifolds. I'm deciding on wheather to go with Flowmasters or ultra flows. I've heard how flowmasters sound, but i haven't heard the ultra flows yet. I have the super turbo's on my truck, and I like them, but I want something different for the chevelle. I'm also looking for a stock looking "mandrel bent system" that will bolt on to manifolds. The only thing that I can find is for headers.
Any ideas?

A good friend of mine had 'em on his 94 truck. They were throaty and deep like the flowmasters, but the tone was a bit more sharp (I don't know how else to describe it).

He was running headers (with no cats) and the engine was a bit too small to deal with all that breathability (hence the throatiness), but overall it sounded great.

A couple of things to consider: everyone on this site who's used flowmasters has liked 'em (whether 2 or 3 chamber). They're a good muffler for a good price. If you want to go with something different, the Ultraflows are a good choice.

Hope that helped http://www.chevelles.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

The Ultra Flows will give you more of a " classic " muscle car sound.
