Yesterday I posted a problem with my car not starting due to the ignition switch. I was told to try and get 12v with the key in the "on" position because I only had power in the "start" position. Well I found a point where there is power in the on position but when the ignition switch is there, no power in the "start" position. Any ideas?

Its not the neutral saftey switch, that doesnt control power to the ignition, just power to the solenoid. Get a wiring diagram, and have someone who knows electrical give you a hand to troubleshoot what you have, or wire a new power supply line into the harness. It is an easy fix, but only for someone who understands electrical systems.

Believe it or not I have been completely led in the wrong direction. I had messed with everything imagineable but to no avail. Then I noticed a fuse that wasn't blown but just looked a little dark on the ends and changed it. The car started right up. How weird is that.

From your postings it sounds like you are adjusting (moving) the ignition switch on the column to solve the problem, which sounds like the correct advice. You say you now have power in the on position but not at start. With the column lowered take a marker and put a small mark on the column at one end of the ignition switch,to use as a reference for the position it is currently at.Now loosen the adjusting screws so that they are still snug, and move the switch towards the position it was in when you had power at Start. Move it in small increments and snug down the screws and try the key to start. Once it turns over release the key and if the power does not stay on after the starter disingages you'll need to move it a little more. Also make sure the rod that activates the switch is not being obstructed by anything when you rebolt the column back in position. If this fails your problem is most likely a faulty switch.
