I think the drive shaft length will be the same, even may use the same yoke. You do realize you will no longer be on DZ's "A" list. Have you heard of the Muscle Car Transmission Law from April 1, 1954? (http://www.chevelles.com/forum/Forum6/HTML/000991.html) (down avout 3 posts)

Let me know if you want to sell all the 4 speed stuff.

I, also, would recommend that you keep the 4sp, with 2 exceptions. One, if this is going to be a regular or full time drag car, then I agree, you can't beat the consistancy of a well built auto (see I can be agreeable). Two, if you keep it, SWITCH to a Muncie or Super T-10 (unless your engine is less than a 2bl 327).

Saginaw 4 speeds are pretty weak and will break with mild abuse. If you want to stick with a 4 speed I would go with a muncie, but if you want to switch to a TH350 it will be a bolt in swap. Driveshaft length will be ok, and trans mount will be ok. Put a B/M transpak in at level 2 before you install the trans for good hard shifts, and dont forget a trans cooler if your radiator doesnt have one already.

I just did the same swap in my 66.I scattered my saginaw all over the street.
Every thing dropped right in.Pick a good cable opperated ratchet style shifter and give it hell.Save your 4 speed parts and find a muncie .
