i'm in the process of rebuilding my front end and after removing the springs i noticed rubber spacers underneath them. i checked my assembly manual and they don't appear to be stock. year one shows 3/8 and 1/2 inch size spacers that go under the front springs. can someone give an opinion as to what these are for? they seem to have damed water in the lower arms and we're causing rust. are they just for lift or maybe noise control?? sorry for the length of this post, kinda hard to explain. thanks john.

John, I've seen those rubber spring spacers before and most are used to provide a tad more ride height for the front. As long as the springs are installed properly, they should not make any noise. Hope this helps.

I have seen these on a couple of cars to add a little hight, but they were always installed on the top of the spring. I guess it would work the same with no water problems.

thanks guys, sometimes it's hard to see the little stuff in the assyembly manual. i'm really anxious to go for a ride with the new bushings, the old one we're pretty bad.
