I've spent the last couple of hours trying to get at the bolts inside the crossmember that hold the engine frame mounts. I got the top 2 drivers side out, but can't seem to get my socket with universal on the bottom 2 or any on the passenger side. I've tried thru the 2 holes that look like they're there for and thru the area where the control arm is. I'd appreciate any ideas! BTW, 72 Malibu preparing for future 396.

If you are removing those bolts I would cut them off it is not worth the headache. Then when installing the new ones which I just did on my 69 I used everything known to man from swivel sockets to swivel extensions. Just when I was about to give up I thought just for the hell of it, I'm going to try that 9/16 distributor wrench I got in there and got them all started and tightened. I put masking tape on the outside of it to hold the nut in place. I know what you are going through. Good Luck. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif
