Can i use a small block 66 ps pump (looks exactly the same except for where you add fluid) on a big block with the big block brackets to avoid using the external resivoir? (I know i probably spelled that wrong.) I can't help thinking that the filler neck must have been in the way of something or gm would have done this. Also, am i supposed to use something better than heater hose between the resivoir and the pump? Mine hose always feels slimey even though its not leaking at the ends. It makes me think its seeping through the hose. I have notice another guys doing the same thing.

You can not use heater hose -it will desolve it! All the auto parts suppliers did not have the 3/4" for hydraulic fluids. Ended up going to a hose supplier for that short piece of hose.
