I am really close to ordering no hop bars for my 72 Chevelle but I read a post where someone said that when he installed them, they hit the underbody. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, what size of rear sway bar do you recommend? Thanks

I have no problem, previous post have been about elkys, but if your ride hieght is low enough you may have a problem. Your upper control arm will be about 3" from the housing with ni hops.

The cars all have a hump over the rear axle. Should have no problem at all. Camino's have a flat panel that makes up the bed, and so have less clearance.

We just installed poly-urethane bushings in our rear control arms and eliminated all traces of wheel hop using street tires. We haven't tried slicks which might load the bushings more and cause problems. Looks nice and original too.

Kaiser, the answer is yes, but it's not the no-hops that hit but the upper control arms. They can hit the upper portion of the trunk. I noticed several years ago small dents from the front edge of the control arms, probably happened during hard launches. However, I've never heard it hit and the dents can not be seen from the trunk. IMO, the no-hops are the only way to go and they work.

Anyone have any recommendations on what size of rear sway bar to get?

The largest you can find. I have a 1 3/8" rear bar from H-O Racing. Their stuff is now sold thru Malibu Performance.
