Dude,
I work as a aircaft inspector and what you need to do is. Find a place that sells ( Micro-Mesh kit) It starts out with 220 grit sandpaper and goes down to 12,000 grit. I have used this and it works! E-mail me and I can tell you more.

John, thanks for the reply. What type of store would sell the micro-mesh kit?
Thanks again.

Cardiac, I do on occasion go to herfy's and also Burger King in Lynnwood. I haven't yet been to Monroe for the drags. This car hasn't seen the road yet as I'm doing a full frame off-resto that I began 12 years ago!
I have never driven it since I've owned it!
( bought it in pieces)Can't wait for the maiden voyage! I plan on having it complete late spring as all I have to do now is put everything together. Look for this car, it is painted beautiful Viper blue with the factory 69 SS stripes in white, black bucket interior and 3 inch exhaust.

Mr. Ratt:

micromesh is used mostly by airplane people to polish-out scratches in plexiglas type windscreens on light airplanes.

Sporty's Pilot Shop has it in their mail-order catalog for $24.95. I don't see a website for them, but their number is (800) 543-8633. Their address is: Clermont County Airport; Batavia OH 45103.

You might also try your local airport or A&P mechanics. Other sources might be listed in "Trade-a-Plane" which you might find at a library or bigger bookstore or magazine place.

I've never used the stuff, but its been around for a long time. I'd imagine that deep scratches might polish-out OK, but leave some distortion. Not too good in an airplane, but OK on car dash instruments.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
