How do you remove the fresh air actuator and door from a 71 El Camino. The valve is under the hood by the air box. Thanks Jon

I believe you are referring to the actuator on the passenger side in the cowl section beneath the window. If so there are six screws that hold that item in place, one small vacuum line and a bracket that hooks into the fresh air door. Remove the screws and carefully with your fingers push the pin from the end of the actuator out of the plastic door arm. The bracket with the pin is easy to break and difficult to find a new one, so be careful. I am not sure how to remove the door as I have never removed one.
