Ive been thinking of purchasing an Energy Suspension polyurethane bushin kit for the front and rear of my 72 chevelle. What are the pros and cons of these bushings???? Anyone has experience with this kit before?

From what I've heard and seen, you only want bushings that are impregnated with graphite. Otherwise they will squeak up a storm. There are polygraphite versions made by a couple of vendors. My .02 worth.

I bought both front and rear poly/graphite controll arm bushing sets from H-O Racing. They are MUCH easier to install than the regular rubber type. Don't remove the outer shells from your controll arms! Melt/burn out the original rubber, clean up the shells and stuff the poly bushings and new inner sleeves into the existing outer sleeves. No need for a press that way, therefore you won't distort the controll arms.
Better handling, longer service life, easier installation, and no need to have the vehicle at normal ride height to torque the controll arm nuts and bolts. Poly bushings are a win/win/win/win situation.
Mind you, if I had it to do over again, I'd have figured out a way to stick a grease zerk on each bushing, for periodic lube.

When I did my front disc brake convertion I put in polyurethane bushings. The ride is great, I also put in new coils which was a big help also
** In july I am putting in the BB, and will have to buy new front springs. I put in these SB springs in august. Will still be as good as new in july. you want em at cost? I understand your situation (being yound and close to broke) and can help. No handouts http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif, just help.
I have noticed a little squeeking from the front bushings after first installing them. But now (1/2 year) not a sound from them.
I also just installed poly bushing in the rear. and boxed the lower C arms (too easy). It handles wonderfull!! I can corner a lot better now. Poly bushings in the rear will help to eliminate body roll and wheel hop. Which by any other means is a sway bar ($100) and no-hop-bars (~$150?).
If I had things to do over I would go with poly-graphite in the front and poly-urethane in the rear.

I installed the red energyy susp. polyurethane bushings on both the front and rear control arms on my 72 chevelle. The difference in the way the car handled vs. the oem type was tremendous. No squeaking, better driving characteristics and knowing I will be dead and forgotten before they start rotting.
