I am rebuilding a HEI for my 67 and am confused on what to put in this little devided grease chamber (look at previous post for more info on what im talking about) http://www.chevelles.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/003192.html ... Die electric grease, assembly lube, white grease, little oil sponges or what?? also anyone know where I can find a diagram of the HEI on the web?? I think my HEI is missing a small shim or something but I am not sure

Maybe a year ago this topic came up and it seems that GM never really told anyone what to refill that cavity with. Some of the members had suggestions. Try a search on this site (upper right corner of page).

I was one of those people. There never has been a solid answer. So far, I have been using a thick bearing grease. No one seems to disagree.
