Does anyone have a picture of a Cortez Blue Chevelle, preferrably a '70? My son is considering painting his that color and would like to get an idea what it would look like.
Thanks

There is no such thing as "Cortez Blue" as far as I know, The color was Cortez Silver, not blue, if your son wants a dark blue that was used on Chevelles, I HIGHLY recommend Fathom Blue, an absolutely beautiful color, a real dark, deep blue. I was originally going to paint my '68 Fathom Blue, instead of the purple it is now http://www.chevelles.com/forum/rolleyes.gif, but after I found out how straight my body was, then I knew there was only one color to go with, Tuxedo Black http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif Hope I was of some help

Whoops. I guess we have the name wrong. We saw a picture (not very good) of a blue '70 with black band-aid stripes. The blue was a "gun metal" like blue, a "grayish" blue. Not a navy, or a light blue or a sky blue.
Does anyone know the name of that blue and can direct us to a picture?
Thanks again.

Hey, I'm back http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif The color you are asking about is called Astro Blue, I'm not exactly sure where there is a picture of an Astro Blue '70, but I'm sure that if you just started looking around you'll find one pretty quick, look at the personal websites on this site and at www.chevelles.net, (http://www.chevelles.net,) between these two websites there are hundreds of pictures, and you'll probably find what you were looking for. It should also be an easy color to spot, because in 1970 there were only 3 shades of blue offered, the color you are asking about, Astro Blue, Fathom Blue, which is a DARK blue and Misty Turquoise which is obviously more of a greenish-blue.

You can also look at the paint codes/charts here at team Chevelle. It's not as good as a photo though...
