I am currently starting to restore a 67 SS and I am looking for any information reference material that would help me in this endevaor, plus information on where all the decals need to be placed. I do have a copy of the chevelle factory instruction assembly manual, but it is not very clear in lots of cases. Also anyone happen to know where I could get a copy of the parts and illustration manuals especially an early printed edition? Thanks for all the help.

Is this THE Kurt Johnson, son of Warren, of NHRA Pro Stock fame? If so, welcome aboard, but all 6000 members will require an autographed photo before we can give you any assistance. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif If not, that's okay, welcome aboard anyway.
The best way I've found to determine the locations of placards and emblems is to go to every local car show you can find and check out the cars that are like yours. There are some books out there, like Paul Herd's Chevelle Restoration Guide, but its accuracy has been called into question numerous times here.
I've found that my supplier catalogs are helpful to a degree in that they list reproduction emblems for a given car and its location on the car. It doesn't give you the exact location, but it gives you an idea of which emblems belong on the car. For instance, they list the SS emblems for the front grill and rear bumper of my 71, so that tells me that the SS version of my car came with SS emblems on the grill and rear bumper.
Don't be afraid to ask the members here to scan pictures of their cars to help you out. Also, go to the home page and click on the feature car and then scroll down until you find one that is the same year as yours and see if you can find anything helpful there. The last suggestion I have is to hit some swap meets and see if you can locate old literature like sales brochures that could be of help. Ebay always seems to have hundreds of brochures up for bid at any time.
