I need a lead on a 55 Chevy site that would have good info on installing a big block in a 55 Chevy. Tried Classic Chevy but thier reply was to buy thier kit! I need someone to talk to that has done the swap! Thanks Mark

You might try the ubb at chevytalk.com There is a specific tri five section that my buddy with a 57 has found quite useful. We looked for a tri five mailing list, couldn't find one, started one, and it hasn't really gone anywhere.

Plan on firewall work; as big as the engine compartment is on a 55 the pass side head needs more room in the rear. Other fun areas are oil pan to center link clearance, and headers. I also used modern side mounts for the 427. Plan on fitting the engine a few times before painting, its a tighter fit than you may think.
