My Chevelle has deep dish Rally Wheels on the back and not so deep on the front,Both 15", these are the wheels with the long hat type center caps with grooves in them. They say Chevrolet motor division on them.I want to know where these deep dish wheels came from? Also how do you remove the center caps,do they bolt in from the opposite side of the wheel or do they snap in? I dont want to go prying on them they are pretty pricy.....Thanks
It sounds to me like you probably have 15x8 ralleys on the back and possibly 15x7s up front. The center caps just pop off. On my chrome ones that are mounted on my 69 Camaro I can pry them off with my fingers. On the one that were on my 87 Monte they take a little more effort so I use a short flat blade screwdriver to get them started. IS there a possibility the previous owner might have installed the anti theft cables? If so the cap will still come off but will only come out a few inches since the retainer is held on with the lugnuts. Reccommend the retainers if theft in you area is a problem. Hope this helps. BTW you can see my wheels in the pics on my homepage. My guess as for where the wheels come from 15x7s were available on most 66-74 Chevys(disc brakes). I can't remember exactly for the 15x8s other than Vettes and Camaros. Good Luck

This sounds like the same set-up I have on my 67. The ones on the back are deeper dish than the ones on the front but they are both 15X8's with different back spacing. They were on the car when I bought it and I just replaced tires and repainted the wheels but i measured them both at 8". I just figured they were Corvette Ralleys with the different back spacing on the fronts to avoid tire rub. And yes the center caps just pop off.
