I have never seen it on a car, though I keep a look out every time I'm at a boneyard. I do believe that there were more than 300-some cars with this option, though -- since it was available on the Chevelle, Monte, and full size Chev lines, at least from what I have read. I've never seen any components of this setup for sale, either. It's so obscure that I'm sure most people would mistaken it for a cruise control lever.

I like to learn something new everyday and I just have.

This will be the place if anybody knows anything about it. Good luck.

Ultra-rare option CD-3 also requires the Ultra-rare relay that the factory mounted under the hood near the wiper motor. Not only did this control electrical functions, but also had a fluid hose connections. If I can make things out right, it gives you a few swipes with the push of the button, press it in further, and you get the washer fluid to squirt out too.

This is too cool. I will find RPO CD-3! I'm stuffing my Chevelle to the gills with as many cool 1970 options as I can get my hands on.

Tony, that's definately a great piece to ad if you can find it! One thing I was thinking about was adding something like that, but looking for a printed circuit board to shove into it so it will do intermittent wipers. nothing like that ever came stock on a 70, did it?

Yeah Lev, I was thinking of adding a delay circuit to the wipers on my car, too. Getting the circuit to work shouldn't be a problem, but I'm wondering how to design it to work with the original switch.
