I just bought a 70 Chevelle. Not for sure if its an SS, which it really don't bother me. If it were a true SS what would the title say? Chevrolet Chevelle, Chevelle Malibu or would it actually say Chevelle Super Sport. Thanks for any info you can give me.

Depending on what is normally required in the state of Missouri, I would say the title should just say 1970 Chevrolet 2 door. Some States and Provinces may show the model (Chevelle) and possibly engine (V8). This is based on the SS being an option in 1970 and not it's own series.

Not sure you can tell if it is a true SS by title description.But what is the H.P. rating next to your mileage on title? I have found that this might tell the engine as well as SS or not.State of Mo.sent me 6 pages of Vin# when I requested A title search in 1996.No longer possible for public use.My L-78 says 51h.p.E-mail me your Vin# and I will tell you if I have in my file.

MR70 the car was bought in IL, and it was originally an Arkansas car. So I dont think the VIN# will help you if you have a list from MO. But if anyone can help here is the VIN# 136370A173787.
